Role Overview
You will be responsible for all HR functions, providing a strong influence on HR matters across the business. You will have autonomy and a strong generalist remit with specific responsibility for adding value to the business.
Responsibilities
- To connect with a wide range of people across the business and make a positive impact whilst embedding our values and vision through continuous staff engagement.
- Participate in the development of an employee’s health and wellbeing strategy.
- Responsible for preparing and processing monthly sage payroll for approximately 80 people and associated pension and related returns.
- Support the development of Line Managers as effective leaders through coaching, enabling them with consistent and meaningful feedback about their people management practices.
- Build strong and positive working relationships with Managers.
- Establish and maintain effective communication methods between employees and management.
Resource Management
- Ensure diversity in the workplace by recruiting, engaging with, and retaining top talent.
- Produce innovative recruitment strategies by leading and managing recruitment drives to attract highly skilled and professional workforce, providing HR guidance and support to managers.
- Co-ordinate and deliver on boarding processes.
- Develop contracts of employment for new starts and promotions in collaboration with managers.
- Ensure the workforce plan incorporates specific detail of recruitment, succession, retirement, and learning and development plans for the business area.
- Ensure the company fulfils its legal responsibilities with regard to Equality Legislation - Fair Employment Returns
Performance, Pay and Reward
- Drive and facilitate a high-performance management culture, creating and maintaining competency frameworks for all roles with the aim of improving organisational capacity and individual capability.
- Support the development of performance management capabilities providing support and guidance to managers to successfully translate their business goals into SMART performance objectives for individuals and teams.
- Ensure employee performance reviews are efficient, effective and continuous.
- Develop job evaluation processes and ensure a systematic approach in determining the level of job role in line with company pay scales.
Employee Relations
- Work closely with managers to improve ER activity, particularly around absence and performance management, discipline, grievance and harassment.
- Work effectively with Managers: lead and act to prevent and resolve ER issues arising through effective communication, negotiation and consultation.
- Provide mediation to aid resolution of complex ER issues.
- Support and coach line manager to take ownership and responsibility for effective management and compliance with best practice.
Other Responsibilities
- Provide training to line managers to ensure compliance with LMS policies, procedures and best practice.
- To research, draft and launch new and revised policies and procedures and project manage their implementation.
- To represent HR on business improvement and change programmes/projects.
- Ensure updating and management of HR administration and staff files.
- Driving employee wellbeing initiatives is a key aspect of the role.
- Proactively maintain and update own knowledge of HR issues including employment legislation, keeping updated in changes in legislation and practice, ensuring that knowledge is shared and acted upon within the team.
- Take every opportunity to promote and improve LMS image as a ‘World Class’ employer.
- Provide monthly reports and data analytics.
- Be a visible People & Culture Partner and focal point for HR excellence within Linen Mill Studios providing guidance and supporting the management team within each team.
- Undertake any other duties as considered by the company to be within the scope of the role.

What you bring to the role:
- A third level qualification in HR or related discipline. CIPD qualification preferred.
- Proven track record within HR, ideally coming from a HR officer / business partner background.
- Experienced in processing payroll via sage and associated pensions and returns.
- The ability to communicate at all levels to get the best out of people.
- Have the ability to work independently with a breadth of HR knowledge.
- Be IT and system savy having previous experience operating HRMS and other software applications.
- Have strong and up to date knowledge and experience of employment law.
- Have a proven track record of developing and implementing HR policies, procedures and processes to drive a high-performance culture.
- Be a proactive team player who maintains a real emphasis on relationship building.
- Has a high level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive information.
ABOUT THE STUDIO TOUR
Game of Thrones Studio Tour, located in Banbridge, Northern Ireland, was once a bustling linen mill factory, first constructed in the 1900s. In 2011, and after the linen industry had moved offshore, the site became a filming host for HBO’s Game of Thrones.
Working in partnership with HBO and Warner Bros Discovery, Game of Thrones Studio Tour began development after Game of Thrones, Season 8 wrapped in 2019. The Studio Tour opened in February 2022 and is the world’s only Game of Thrones Studio Tour.
Game of Thrones Studio Tour aims to celebrate and inspire the next generation of film makers and creatives, whilst making conscious efforts to leave our working environment, in a better position for the future.
