We recently welcomed five guide dog puppies in training from Guide Dogs UK to the Game of Thrones Studio Tour in Banbridge, Northern Ireland. Their visit was part of an essential early socialisation exercise, giving the young dogs the opportunity to experience the sights, sounds and atmosphere of the Studio Tour while developing confidence in new environments.
An Immersive Training Day Through Westeros
Accompanied by professional trainers and volunteer puppy raisers, the puppies explored key areas of the Studio Tour, including the crypts of Winterfell and the iconic Iron Throne. The immersive environment, complete with dramatic lighting and atmospheric effects, provided a valuable learning experience in how to remain calm and responsive in busy or unusual surroundings.
“One standout moment was seeing the pups sitting calmly in the fog exhibit as the smoke was triggered - a feat I honestly wasn’t sure we could achieve. It was a unique and invaluable learning experience that will serve the pups well in their future roles."

As one of the largest single-floor visitor attractions in Northern Ireland, it features wide walkways, step-free access and inclusive facilities, providing a practical and comfortable environment for all guests, including those supported by assistance animals.
